Strange Brew is a media house.
We publish magazines, make short films and have a lot of fun.
I started Strange Brew in 2004, and we started out with publishing a magazine, obviously titled 'Strange Brew'. We tanked and died in 2006 because no one could find the magazine in stores. When someone would go to a store and ask for 'Strange Brew', the magazine shop owner would say 'Whaaaa? strange blue? no no, we dont stock that magazine', and turn them away.
No, that's just an inside joke - but we didnt manage to survive, and landed ourselves in quite a financial mess. So we dug our boots in, recovered, paid the debts off, and are now thriving as a media house.
We tell stories for our clients - brands, non profits, whoever. Some of it has won us awards, but all of our work has won us further business. Its totally enjoyable work, and our brilliant team of filmmakers are charting new routes for us. We are working on our in-house fiction projects and documentaries.
